2008 Job Fairs in Germany

The Yukon Government recently participated in German job fairs with other western Canada provinces and employers. There were two locations: Essen, Germany on November 12 and Magdeburg, Germany on November 14, 2008.
Approximately 1200 German job seekers attended the fairs and interest in Western Canada was high. The events were also featured on local TV. Many employers from other provinces were succcessful in recruiting new employees. There were many visitors to the Yukon booth.
These job fairs were organized by a German government agency called ZAV. They work in partnership with the Canadian provincial and territorial governments to promote the job fair in Germany.
Job fairs are a great way for employers to meet a large number of potential employees in the minimum amount of time. Candidates attending the fair will already be aware of the sectors represented and some of the positions being recruited for. They are there to find jobs in those particular sectors.
Destination Canada 2008 Job Fairs - France and Belgium
Destination Canada Job Fairs were held November 18–24, 2008 in three locations: Paris, Brussels and Toulouse.
Over the past few years, Destination Canada has become the forum in France and Belgium for information about working and living in Canada. Canadian employers participate, post job offers and select candidates.
Destination Canada Job Fairs are presented by the Embassy of Canada in France, with the support of Citizenship and Immigration Canada and in partnership with public agencies for employment and international mobility: Espace Emploi International in France, Forem, Actiris and Vdab in Belgium.
Through presentations by the Embassy of Canada, approximately 2500 participants discovered the country's diversity and learned about opportunities to work temporarily or live permanently in Canada.
Representatives of Canada's provinces and territories as well as our francophone communities across the country gave participants a taste of the welcome that awaits them and the services that can help them get settled.
