Criteria
The Skills Shortage List will allow Yukon Industry Associations to request specific occupations be placed on a list and negate the need for an individual employer to prove local and national recruitment attempts.
The specific criteria for approving an occupation for the Skills Shortage List are:
- The Industry Association must be a registered association in Yukon.
- The Industry Association must submit a letter for consideration that includes the:
- specific occupation for addition to the Skills Shortage List
- certification or licensing required for the occupation
- anticipated number of positions needed
- action taken (from the industry association or its membership) to recruit at the local and national levels.
